What Does "Spirit Week" Mean To You?

Journal question: It's your senior year: What does "Spirit Week" mean to you? Did you participate everyday? Would you continue the traditions of Home Coming, and Pep Rally? How would you get everyone involved in "Spirit Week?"

Spirit week is when everyone is supposed to participate in the different things each day in order to show their school spirit. I did not participate every day, but I did on some days. I think it would be good to continue the traditions of Home Comng and Pep Rally because it is good to try to get people to have more school spirit and get them to be happy that they go to Smithtown. One way to get everyone involved would be to offer some sort of reaward or incentive to the person or grade whose particapation in Spirit Week is the best.

Opinion On a Current Event

Journal question: Give your opinion on a current event. It can be anything politics, sports, entertainment, or business. However, it must be current and something we have not already written about.

I think the Mets shold get better players and make a lot of trades in the off-season because so many of their players are injured and many are getting old and are prone to injuries. This season almost their entire starting lineup became injured and they had so many minor league players with no experience. Because of this, they are so many games out and have no chance of making the playoffs. If they did not all get injured they could have had a good chance.

What Would I Sell In My Business

Journal question: If you could start your own business what would it be, who is your target market, and what kind of product would you sell?

If I started my own business I would sell laser beams and laser pointers with different colored lasers. My target market would be any person who would have an interst in them, like hunters to use it on their guns, and the military for their guns, to improve their accuracy.

OPINION: Education can help erase America's rude awakening

I agree with the opinion article from Friday's Newsday. I think that if we are educated and are taught the right things in school that it would be beneficial for everyone. The author said that "Thomas Jefferson believed that democracy works best when an educated citizenry takes the time to engage in thoughtful debate and dialogue," and this seems like it would be a good idea, and it could help people learn more and be more educated.

Obama Administration Health Care Reform

The Obama administration is trying to pass a new health care reform bill please list 3 points of the bill you agree with and 3 points you disagree with.

Agree
1. People who cannot afford health care can now have it for free
2. Younger people who do not need expensive health care can have it anyway
3. People who lost their jobs in the recession and no longer have coverage can now be covered

Disagree
1. Spending $900 Billion is not going to help very much and its going to be hard to get them money.
2. Private insurance companies can go out of business and more people will be unemployed
3. Government could have too much control over health care and people won't have as many options for doctors

My favorite genre of music is...........? and Why?

My favorite genre of music is rock music. My dad always played it when I was young so that's when I started to like it. I listen to a lot of different rock bands from the seventies and eighties that my dad listened to a lot when I was young. He doesn't listen to them as much anymore but now I do and I also like some other rock groups he did not listen to.

Is Kanye West a Bully or a Hero? Why?

I think that Kanye West is a bully because what he did was rude. He just went up on the stage and grabbed the mic from her and he was not even supposed to be up there in the first place. It was stupid for him to do that and he should be embarrassed. After hes stole the mic from her he also said that Beyonce should have won and that her video was the best. He did not even apologize for what he did.
